Meet the Baker : Jordan
Hi y’all, I'm Jordan, or as most know me, JOJO. The name JOJO came from my nephew, Vincent, who at the time could not say Jordan. JOJO came out easier for him so it’s a name I fell in love with and has stuck to this day.
I’m the owner, baker and decorator behind JOJO's Cookie Studio, a home-based bakery I created back in 2012 under the name of JS Creations to bake the freshest and down right cutest cakes and cupcakes I could.
Growing up I always had a love for arts and crafts, Halloween and anything that let me run free with my creativity. As I got older I knew I wanted to spend my days being creative and I always loved redecorating my room or moving furniture around. I had a love for architecture and how things were built, so I decided art school was the way I wanted to go.
I graduated from high school in June of 2008 and in October of 2008 I was starting my days at the Art Institute of Dallas. I spent hours upon hours learning about art history, the history of architecture, fabric design, the history of color and mixing color. I graduated in March of 2012 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design.
Unfortunately, with the economy at that time, the job market wasn’t very active so I took time off and cared for my grandmother who was on home hospice at the time. I spent every day of the week with her watching our favorite shows, making sure she took her meds and kept her fed.
During her naps I watched numerous amounts of cookie videos and always wanted to give them a go. In April of 2016, my sweet nephew was turning three and I didn’t want to just show up with the same cake and cupcakes I always did so I had my go at a set of Paw Patrol inspired sugar cookies.
After that first set I decided I wanted to turn my love for creating baked goods into something more, so I made decorated sugar cookies the star of this company and JOJO’s Cookie Studio was born.
I can create anything for you for any occasion: birthdays, baby showers, weddings, graduations, college events or even for that random Thursday you just want something sweet to eat. When you order from JOJO’s you get unique, custom and over-the-top creations that not only look good, but taste even better.
I had the amazing opportunity to compete on Food Network in 2020. I got a message one day from a casting producer for the show asking me to audition for the show and it took off from there. You can catch me on Food Network’s Christmas Cookie Challenge, Season 4, Episode 6: ‘Christmas is Heating Up.’ It was the best experience and I got to compete against four of the best women whom I am lucky I get to call friends. Plus, meeting Ree Drummond and Eddie Jackson was unreal!
I put all my love into every single order and I hope to work with each and every one of you soon.
May all your sweet dreams come true!
